This beautiful trophy for the match against Kent was contested this year at Brampton Park GC on a lovely autumn day.
After the customary Beverages and Bacon Roll the Captains Stuart and David with their partners led off the 8 match contest.

After all teams had returned to the Clubhouse for some well deserved refreshment they retired upstairs for a Dinner of Steak & Vegetable pie followed by Sticky Toffee pudding.
The Nearest the Pins were both won by the visitors from Kent with Tony Davies winning the wine on the 8th and Kevin Rolfe taking the honours on the 15th.
Continuing the winning theme Kent managed to reclaim the Claret Jug From Cambridgeshire and Stuart gladly presented the trophy to David. Forthcoming new Captain John Thompson was relieved as this made at least 1 less trophy to engrave.
Next year’s contest is scheduled to take place on Wed 17th July at Bearsted GC near Maidstone as part of the tour. We look forward to honing our game in Sussex and then regaining the trophy.
