A home game in Cambridgeshire, but not at a member club was the setting for the annual match for the Captains’ Salver between SCAGC, Derbyshire and Leicestershire & Rutland.
The game was played at Peterborough Milton, which is probably the closest Cambridgeshire venue to the opposing 2 counties.
Following the recent dry spell the fairways were starting to turn brown, which allowed the ball to run quite a bit, not always in the right direction.
Cambridgeshire were looking to defend the trophy which was won last year away at Burton-on-Trent.
