It was the turn of Northamptonshire to host this year’s edition of the Cam Trophy. The event was held at Whittlebury Park, on the edge of Silverstone race circuit. The sound of cars provided a noisy backdrop for the match.
Following last year’s success at Lakeside Lodge SCAGC were looking to defend the Trophy on a course which some had played last year in the Northants match. The course was slightly different as the 9 that we didn’t play last year featured in the match.
The course provided a stern test as the overall aggregate scores were generally lower than last year.
However after a challenging day’s golf Cambridge were successful in defending the Trophy.
John Harris scored the best round of the SCAGC members with 36 pts.
