It was the turn of Cambridgeshire to host this year’s 3 Counties event against Bedfordshire and the recently played Norfolk. The game itself took place at The Cambridgeshire at Bar Hill but due to the Home Office commandeering the Hotel the post match meal was enjoyed not far away at Girton.
A nice warm day with the course in good condition meant that players enjoyed their day even if there was a bit of travelling involved. The results below show that there were good scores on each team.
The meal back at Girton, enjoyed in a relaxed manner without Jacket/Tie was good summer fare of Braised Steak and Bread & Butter Pudding.
The Nearest the Pin winner were John Reeds from Beds and Martin Lambert from Norfolk.
The Shield was won by Cambridgeshire, Captain Stuart happily accepting the trophy for Pat Holman from Norfolk.
