Our last event of the season was, as normal, at the home club of the current Vice Captain. This year it was played at Brampton Park as Alan Wood was the incoming Captain for 2026.
With an earlier start than normal due to having to accommodate the AGM post golf and having consumed the requisite refreshments and Bacon Rolls, the majority of the players followed Captain & Vice Captain into the cool, damp overcast conditions.
There were some very good scores, and some not so good. Yours truly surely being the worst player of the day.
After the golf was completed the AGM was held (see separate article), dinner consumed and the prizes presented.
Nearest the Pins on both 7th & 15th were won by the Brampton present Club Captain Simon Chapman who was unfortunate to have myself as his partner. New Captain Alan Wood can be seen presenting his first prizes of his tenure.
In the Tankards competition 2nd place went to Mike Wallis & Merv Pickard, whilst the winners were Mark Jones (again) and John Tellett. The presence of home members in the winners circle seems to suggest a slight advantage.
