A cooler day with some threatening rain greeted the teams at Ramsey GC for the 2025 edition of the Shenoca Trophy.
A full breakfast was served beforehand to replenish those who had had long journeys.
A midday start off 2 tees was used to try and enable most to get home before dark.
The Captains of each team led their teams to the course which was very dry on the fairways, but the greens were in fine condition.
The weather for the most part remained dry with just a few heavy showers for the players to cope with. All in all it was better than expected. The scores varied with some not quite coping as well as others.
After retiring to the newly refurbished clubhouse and a substantial meal of Steak pie & Crumble the prizes were presented.
There were the normal Nearest the Pin prizes of bottles of wine, 1 for each team and these were won by Graham Hosker(Shrop&Here), Sean Musson(Notts) & Steve Kane(Cambs).
There were also prizes for the best score for each team, and these were won by Mike Walker(Shrop&Here), Mark Hudson(Notts) & Mark Thurmott(Cambs).
The final scores were totalled and SCAGC ended up as the winners with 313 points. Narrowly defeated in 2nd place were Nottinghamshire with 310 points and 3rd were Shropshire & Herefordshire with 285 points.
Captain Chas was delighted to receive yet another trophy.
