This year’s venue for the twelve entered club teams was Bourn GC.
Every year his golf course just gets better and better, the only down side to the day was the weather conditions…….the wind was “spiteful” which reflected in the recorded scores.
As usual we were made very welcome by all the staff and chef Alex and his staff prepare for us a superb light lunch and evening meal.
Ian Pountain (Links GC) did a fine job getting us all off on time and Keith Howlett (Bourn GC) introduced the SCAGC to a new digital scoring system which was amazing. Player’s scores and Club total scores were shown on a screen minutes after their cards had been checked and approved by David Creek (Brampton GC).
The result depended on one player in the final group…….Rod Barnes of Bourn GC….and yes, he came in with the best recorded score of the day…..33 points, to clinch the Inter Club Trophy for Bourn GC.
Congratulations to the Bourn GC team of Keith Howlett, Stuart Watson, David Greef and Rod Barnes who recorded a total score of 89 points. Second, only 5 points behind were Brampton Park GC.
