Another sunny day at Girton GC with 16 teams competing in this years Guest Day. The teams were playing for the newly presented Tony Andrews Trophy.
This has been donated to the Society by Girton GC in memory of Tony Andrews who was Girton Captain in 1964 and very active at Girton and also within SCAGC, being the Society Captain in 1999 and subsequently Match Manager for the Norfolk Match. A fitting tribute for SCAGC longest serving member.
A full breakfast fueled the players for the afternoon battle which saw the competition won by Stuart Watson from the Golf Club formerly known as Bourn and his guest Malcolm Plows from Brampton Park GC with a massive 48 points. Seen here receiving the new trophy from Girton Captain Alan Henderson Smith.
2nd place was claimed by John Aspinall and guest Kevin Hurton from Ely City GC with 45 points and 3rd on countback were Glenn Grint and guest Graham Taylor from Girton GC.
Nearest the Pin prizes were claimed by Geoffrey McCall and Dan Harrison.
An evening meal of a Carvery with Cheese & biscuits completed the festivities for the day.
