This years Cuba Trophy will be held on the Forest Course @ Bramshaw Golf Club on Wednesday 31st August, which is situated in the village of Brook, about 1 mile north of Junction 1 of the M27.
Bramshaw is fortunate to have 2 18 hole courses. Golf was first played on Brook Common from around 1865 and the club was formalised in 1880 and as such is the oldest course in Hampshire. The 2 courses are completely different and separated by about ½ mile. The more modern Manor is a parkland course. The Forest course is on the open common land which is shared with New Forest ponies, cattle, deer and at certain acorn time, pigs. The land has SSSI status and at the time when the fixture is played, the course is usually at its best and you will find that it presents a unique experience with lots of streams and ditches to navigate and only one hole that has bunkers!
I should warn you that normal golf buggies are not allowed on this course which is fairly flat. However, personal buggies of a ‘sit on’ nature are allowed.
