Our annual meeting was held at Girton GC and we would like to thank the Club’s Secretary/Manager Vanda and the Girton GC members for allowing our Society to us their excellent facilities.
Couse Courtesy
The main issue for discussion was the withdrawal of “Course Courtesy from, Gog Magog GC, Links GC and Saffron Walden GC all three founder member clubs of the SCAGC.
At present Liaison Officers and members of two of the clubs have appealed against their clubs decision, the third have decided not to appeal. The Committee is waiting to hear the outcome of the appeals prior to further discussions and decisions being made relating to these clubs.
Finance
The Treasurer informed the meeting that the 6 month audit usually prepared by John Peckett had not taken place. This was due to John, having at present very demanding work commitments; however, he will be able to do an audit later in May.
The Treasurer confirmed the Societies finances were still very sound, although membership subscriptions were down due to Royston GC and Waterbeach GC leaving the Society at the end of 2012.
Annual Dinner
Only one criticism was received regarding the dinner; no wine coolers on the tables, which was a very valid point – to be rectified next year. The general opinion of the members attending the meeting was one of praise for the Annual Dinner.
Any Other Business
None from the floor
Meeting Closed.
