Captain Chas leads the Charge
Our first match of the season was on a lovely sunny day at Ely City against near neighbours Suffolk. A definite pre-Easter treat.
Chas was accompanied by Hugh against the Suffolk pair of Steve & Paul.
A good pace of play saw all players return to the clubhouse for a proper ‘Stumpy’ meal of meat ‘n’ 2 veg. The roast beef was very nice and plentiful.
The slightly different ‘Nearest the Pin’ competition, with some mini eggs for all those that hit the green, was won by Colin Aldous for Suffolk and David Francis for SCAGC.
After a good day on a well presented course with no preferred lies the eventual winners were SCAGC with a 6 1/2 to 1 1/2 victory.
Captain Chas can be seen accepting and retaining the trophy for SCAGC from Suffolk.
