On a lovely sunny day the last reported match in the Battle of the Blues series took place, much to the confusion of most participants as no-one seemed to know why future matches have been cancelled.
However this did not detract from the enjoyment of the day and after the normal bacon roll the Captains led their teams onto the course. Chas was joined by Ian Lennon, current Captain of Cambridge Meridian to hopefully use local knowledge.
As the course straddles the Meridian line we went from West to East and back again numerous times, some more than others.
After the golf the large portions of Cow Pie were devoured to great satisfaction.
The Nearest the Pin Winners were Rob Stroud for Oxfordshire and John Harris for Cambridgeshire.
The overall winners in this contest were Oxfordshire 3 1/2 – 2 1/2 and get to keep the trophy unless battle resumes at some point in the future.
