The glorious weather continues unabated parching golf courses so the ball now goes further than we used to hit it in our prime. Unfortunately due to lack of maintenance the tees and greens of Barkway were sadly lacking.
However 47 golfers ( 1 of the home players forgot) enjoyed the famous Braughing Sausages and the hospitality of the Captain Terry Akers before a two tee start. Hospitality was again provided after 9 holes to allow players to re-hydrate or top up with beer.
As well as prizes for nearest the pin on all par 3’s two competitions were held, one for Captains Day and a separate one for Liaison Officers which was won by Hugh Carlisle.

The main competition was won by a home player, David Francis with a massive 45 points. His handicap was suitable adjusted before the meal.
