The Norfolk match was played this year at Bawburgh GC, which is located next to the Norfolk Show Ground.
For once we had a bright sunny day, which is a rare occasion for this year. The Bawburgh golf course has changed out of all recognition over the past several years, with the Barnard family spending untold thousands improving the course.
The course is quite undulating with several interesting par 3’s and the 18th hole is one of the finest finishing holes in East Anglia.
The Match Manager Tony Andrews and our Captain gave a team talk and “battle commenced” with our players fighting for every hole. But sadly, as hard as we all fought, we lost by a very small margin of 1 point.
As usual the Captain prepared an 8 page after dinner speech. Although enjoyed by a few, most of us, including the Norfolk boys dozed off!
A splendid day was had by all.
