3 Counties Loss

This year’s event held at Gog Magog GC proved to be very popular and the Captain had the difficult choice of who to unfortunate leave out from the team. Those that were disappointed will be given priority at future matches where they will hopefully do better than the team selected this time.

The contest for the 3 Counties Shield between Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Norfolk was played on the Wandlebury course in reasonable weather with only the last few groups seeing any inclement weather.

After all groups had made it back to the clubhouse for a superb carvery meal the results were announced. Unfortunately for SCAGC they did not manage to retain the trophy that was won last year at Eaton but fortunately there was not a wooden spoon to be presented.

The winners were Norfolk with 468 points closely followed by Bedfordshire with 462 points. SCAGC were slightly behind with 439 points. SCAGC Captain John Fuller seen handing the trophy over to Norfolk Captain Terry Pyle.

Full Result. 2019

We look forward to doing battle to regain the trophy next year somewhere in Bedfordshire.
