This year’s venue for the match against Sussex was held at Ifield Park GC near Crawley.
With the amount of rainfall experienced during the week, we were lucky the fixture was not cancelled, although after the result the Captain properly would have preferred a cancellation!
The course was in parts flooded with the fairways very muddy and many of the bunkers full of water. So orders of the day, pick and place on the fairways and all bunkers declared GUR. However, the greens staff had performed miracles on the greens as they proved to be in good condition.
All of our team fought very hard with so many matches going to the 18th before a result was achieved.
Sadly we lost to Sussex, so gentlemen of Sussex, well done and we look forwarded to hosting the return match next year.
