Season update

Dear Liaison Officers, Match Managers and Members.

Liaison Officers please forward to your members.

The committee met via “Zoom” yesterday and discussed the situation with regards to SCAGC golf over the next few months and decided that social gatherings will not be allowed except with the 2 metre ruling until August/September at the earliest making it very difficult for golf clubs to provide catering. As most of our matches involve up to 40 people, many of them in the vulnerable category it was felt that it was in the best interest of the society to cancel the remainder of our matches, Oxfordshire, Sussex, Kent, Norfolk, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire have already taken the decision to cancel their season.
We have left the possibility of holding the Tankards on October 7th, in the hope that the situation has improved dramatically and we could hold our AGM.
The committee has asked Malcolm Knobel-Forbes to be Captain again in 2021, so that he can enjoy a full year of golf. Malcolm I am pleased to say, has accepted. Mark Jones will now be Captain in 2022.
The large majority of our matches in 2021 will be on the equivalent date and venue as 2020. We will be playing both Kent and Sussex at home in 2021. This year’s tour will be cancelled, so we will organise again for 2022.

I wish you all a safe and healthy remainder of the year. At least we can all play some golf again, and I hope I may see some of you from 2 metres away, over the course of the next few months.

Thank you all for your help and support.

Take Care

Stuart
SCAGC Hon Secretary
