Thursday 24th June saw SCAGC congregate at Ely City to play for the Nicholls Salver.
A total of 23 players competed on a dry if not overly warm day, as can be seen by the jumpers on the terrace after play.
After the customary bacon roll and coffee Captain Malcolm led us off to plat a course in lovely condition, though the greens seemed to be slower than I remember them in the past.
Post golf dinner of Steak and Ale pie followed by Treacle Tart was served in the newly refurbished, if overly noisy, dining area.
Two drawn prizes from those that managed pars on the 2nd and 12th saw Ian Sheppard and John Tellett pick up the spoils.
The winner was Mike Robinson with David Francis 2nd and David Steer 3rd.
