Played at Cosby Golf Club near Leicester, this club was founded in 1895 as a 9 hole course, in 1968 it was re-developed into an 18 holes course. The course was tough, especially if you had not played the course prior to the match…….on the 1st you took a 7 iron off the tee to reach a plateau which had a raven on the left and out of bounds on the right- followed by a 6 iron across the raven onto the slopping green….and so on!!
The result Cambridgeshire 270 points, Leicestershire 290 and the winners Derbyshire with 295 points.
