Captains’ Salver
A fair journey for the gentlemen of SCAGC to Morley Hayes GC to the north of Derby. This club has recently joined the Derbyshire fraternity and was a suitable venue to contest the Captains’ Salver played annually between Derbyshire, Leicestershire& Rutland and ourselves.
Despite numerous checks of weather apps and threats of impending rain the weather brightened for the team leaders to start the proceedingsĀ in the dry which then prevailed for the rest of the afternoon.
After the golf was complete and the meal of Steak & Ale pie was enjoyed the results of the day were announced. The team scores were made up of the best 10 of the 16 players from each side. The result was Derbyshire 311; Leicestershire & Rutland 333; Cambridgeshire 295. Hon. Sec. wishes it pointed out that he was the highest scorer for SCAGC.

The trophy shown here being presented to John Carruthers of Leicestershire & Rutland by Bob Roberts of Derbyshire.
