The battle for the Captain’s Salver between SCAGC and the past Captains’ of Leicestershire & Rutland and Derbyshire recommenced at Brampton Park after the inevitable delay.
Following standard fare of coffee and bacon roll saw us all begin at the 1st tee on a reasonable day with just a few showers.

The course was in good condition with the 4th green still remaining hidden in the trees and a lot of the flags not visible from the tees due to the dog-legs. It certainly helps to know where the hole is.
Eventually all 16 groups made it back to the clubhouse for a lovely meal of Hunter’s Chicken followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding. I’m sure this is one of the reasons why some play in these events.
Home member wins NTP’s
Dave Humphreys from the home club managed to pick up both the Nearest the Pin prizes.
After a sterling job of collating all the scores from all 48 players the final scores were announced with Cambridgeshire winning with 400 points, Leicestershire & Rutland 381 points and Derbyshire 370 points. Captain Malcolm gladly accepted the trophy for SCAGC for the first time in 10 years.
