Summer continued with the Challenge Trophy against Buckinghamshire at the Lambourne Club.
After the normal beverages and bacon roll the 32 players ventured onto the course.
The tee and greens were in excellent condition and there was even some fairway watering in some places, making a pleasant change from the burnt fairways of most courses.
The course itself was reasonably flat and open with pleasant undulations, trees and some water hazards. Fortunately not too many.
After the round the players changed for dinner in a quaint changing room populated with soft sofas, which nobody used as they would have been too difficult for most to get out of.
After dinner the result was announced with Cambridgeshire managing to retain the trophy, winning 5 – 3.
