A lovely day on a gorgeous golf course, life’s tough sometimes.
A disappointingly under numbered team took to the Burnham Beeches course in the hope of retaining the trophy, but being 1 man short it would be an uphill task.
Both teams were lead of by their respective Captains and also the Club Captain.
The undulating course wove itself between trees with reasonably generous fairways and tricky greens. A thoroughly enjoyable course.
After all the enjoyment the result of the match was that Bucks managed to narrowly win 4 1/2 to 3 1/2. Surely the result would have been different if Ray Smith had a partner but made a valiant effort playing on his own.
