Phew, what a scorcher. Another hot day this time at Bourn Golf club for a home match against Buckinghamshire for the Challenge Trophy.
An ‘off-piste’ lunch of Chicken Quesadilla was chosen by Hon. Sec. before battle commenced on another parched golf course.
Due to the heat one of the visitors unfortunately had to retire before the completion of the match. Let’s hope he’s feeling better this morning.
A SCAGC player had to retire to the bar after winning his match and being hit by a golf ball. This did not cause him any hardship, though is probably a bit sore this morning.
The evening meal was the famous Bourn ‘Cow Pie’ accompanied by Blackcurrant Cheesecake.

After all the scores were totalled the final result was that Cambridgeshire beat Buckinghamshire 4 1/2 to 3 1/2.
Gerry Cotter seen here presenting the Trophy to Terry Akers. (note both Captains are ‘sans bling’)
SCAGC are hoping to retain the trophy next year at Gerrards Cross.
