We were welcomed at Ramsey GC for the annual Battle of the Blues between Cambridgeshire and Oxfordshire. A changeable windy day greeted us with the usual Coffee (other beverages available) and Bacon Roll before teeing off.
During our journey around the course we were well looked after by the ladies in the halfway hut, supplying liquids and some very nice cake. Thanks very much to them.
Unfortunately the weather did not stay completely dry with some rain, thunder and hail delivered before the end of play. However all returned to the clubhouse safe and sound to partake of the evening meal of Chicken followed by Dessert.
The Captain’s Charity Nearest the Pin Winners, each winning a bottle of wine, are shown below.
The overall result of the match was that Cambridgeshire managed to overcome Oxfordshire by 5 1/2 to 2 1/2.
