This year’s Herve Trophy match against Essex and Hertfordshire was held at the aptly named Boyce Hill Golf Club, near Benfleet in East Essex. It was a relatively short course but extremely undulating and caused some interesting problems for many of the participants. However, the host club was very welcoming and hospitable.
Despite the fact that the hills and undulations of the type experienced, do not feature at many of our home courses, the Cambridgeshire team put up a very creditable performance, coming a close second behind Essex, but substantially ahead of Herts.
All in all an interesting day, which everyone appeared to have enjoyed.
