If anyone wants to play a seriously challenging golf course then travel to Matlock GC in Derbyshire.
Weather conditions were perfect for the triangular match; sadly, the SCAGC team had problems scoring on this very difficult course. We all agreed our scores would have been much better if we had played the course on a previous occasion.
I was drawn with the Matlock GC Captain and previous Captain of St. Neots GC Ian Marr, a very good golfer and a really nice guy to play golf with, although I did turn my “hearing aid off” half way round.
Derbyshire retained the Trophy with a score of 338 points, Leicestershire 320 points and SCAGC 306 points.
