Welcome to the SCAGC 2024 season, while it is a quiet golfing period, the Committee has already met and lots of activities are happening behind the scenes. The fixture list is now complete and will be sent to you via your Liaison Officer.
There are eight Society Competitions to be played for, individual, pairs, guests, mixed and a club competition. Fourteen County matches, nine being played away this year, where we will visit some excellent golf courses. The Kent tour will take place in July, playing Sussex at Royal Eastbourne, Kent at Bearsted GC, and a society competition at Neville GC.
Please check out the SCAGC website and enter any of the fixtures that you are interested in and available for this season. The matches are great fun and the opportunity to meet up with other SCAGC Captain’s still walking the fairways and enjoying this great game.
All the Competitions and Matches can be entered via the SCAGC website and the match managers or Secretary can help you with any queries. To simplify the payment of Competition / Match fees, direct money transfers can be made to the Society account. Details available upon request to Hon Sec, Treasurer or CLO. The website is also the place to find the latest news, order clothing and general society updates.
The first event of the year is the Annual Dinner taking place on Friday 22nd March at Queens College Cambridge. Your guest speaker this year is Alistair Barrie comedian, actor, and writer. A regular at London’s Comedy Store and has performed in over 40 countries around the world.
The first competition of the year is the Liaison Officers meeting, to be held on the 28th of March at Brampton Park GC. This event is where new Club Captains are invited to acquire an insight into the Society and encourage them to join.
