What is it with St. Neots GC and rain? After the postponement earlier this year of Guest Day due to rain at St. Neots we turned up for the Tankards and were met once again with some rather damp weather.
Play started under grey skies with the Captain in his last day of incumbency leading the way with his randomly drawn partners.
Play continued with showers, the occasional rumble of thunder and burst of heavy rain leading to some localised flooding and some groups to retire early.
At least the weather was suitable for some.
Eventually all groups returned to the clubhouse in preparation for Dinner and the AGM.
In a change to the published schedule, Dinner of Chicken & Ham pie and Treacle sponge was consumed before the AGM.
The new Captain, Malcolm Knobel-Forbes was duly confirmed and the Chain of Office was handed over by the outgoing Captain John Fuller.
The first duty of the new Captain was to present prizes to the winners of the competition. 3rd place were Ray Smith & Greg Davidson (Above right), Runners-up were Roger Tacq & Trevor Dean (Above)and the Winners were John Fuller and David Croker (Right).
